Jonathan’s research is focussed on digital twins for infrastructure networks, such as highways, railways, and buried utilities. His work investigates the utility of the Digital Twin paradigm for operation and maintenance of the UK Local Road Network (LRN), particularly in the context of operational support, asset interactions, and enhanced resilience in the context of climate change. 

 

His current focus is predictive analysis of geotechnical and pavement assets, and the use of novel predictive models to support risk assessment by asset managing organisations. Prior to his research career, Jonathan worked across the civil engineering industry in both the public and private sector.
